Mandate renewed for UN force in Haiti

The UN Security Council has unanimously agreed to prolong the mandate of their peacekeeping force in Haiti. The 9,000-strong force, which will now stay for a further eight months, will support a police crackdown on gangs in the capital, Port-au-Prince.
