RUSSIA: Putin plunges into Baikal lake

Russia's Prime minister Vladimir Putin plunged to the bottom of Lake Baykal in Siberia aboard a mini-submarine in a highly-publicised media stunt. Putin dived to a depth of around 1,400 metres and returned to the surface after four hours underwater.
