we are actually in deflationary mode right now. with less and less credit being pumped into the system and not a lot of lending going on... this causes deflation and if you look at the dollar vs the euro the past couple days, you will see the dollar rising....

We are in Recession/Inflation mode We are not looking at days & months movment we are looking at 10 years movement. USA debt from 2000-2008 gone from $2 Trillions to $10 Trillions. Federal Reserve keeps printing $$$. Euro came around 2000 and since then Dollar has dropped against Euro. The questions is if we keep printing $$ to fund all these expense how far will the Dollar drop. Oil keeps getting expensive because of Dollar keep dropping. So does Gold against Dollar.

If you look at the yearly chart of the dollar vs the euro you can clearly see the past few months we have started an upward trend of the dollar, with higher highs and higher lows. http://finance.yahoo.com/currency/convert?from=USD&to=EUR&amt=1&t=1y

The past 8 years of the dollar vs the euro - we are definitely in a downward trend, but I'm talking about the past couple months. When there is less capital to go around in the economy and everyone is keeping their money on the sidelines and out of circulation, this causes deflation.

But as you can see also that oil has gone from 147 to close at 88$ a barrel today. All of this has been happening the past couple months. Gold is a safe haven and a hedge against inflation and a good spot to be in over the past 8 years. But all other precise metals have been tanking. Will it be gold's turn soon?
