OBAMA MEETS DEMOCRATIC GOVERNORS: WE ARE FAMILY

Senator Barack Obama met with 16 of the nation's 28 Democratic governors at the Chicago History Museum on June 20. The meeting's official purpose was a discussion of the impact of President Bush's economic policies. During the event, each governor addressed the group-- highlighting the issues their states are facing. New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine gave his take on the state of the economy. "There is a deep recession, and frankly, I believe it's actually gathering momentum. I don't think we're halfway through this. And I think that your focus on a stimulus program today is absolutely essential," said Corzine.
